Since 2019, the Batumi Boulevard administration has been actively taking care of the existence of an adapted environment and the arrangement of appropriate spaces, as evidenced by the presence of adapted infrastructure on the beach. During the tourist season, specially trained instructors on the adapted beach provide assistance to people with disabilities in using a floating wheelchair and help them enter the sea independently. The use of this service is completely free of charge. This project is one of the important innovations of recent years, which serves the development of inclusive tourism and equal access of people with disabilities to existing services. This year, the children's corner was rehabilitated, where an adapted chair-swing is seted, and adapted fitness exerciser have been installed on new sports-fitness spaces. As for the walking paths, people with disabilities can move along Batumi Boulevard in a wheelchair without hindrance using ramps. In 2022, The Batumi City Council approved the Boulevard Development Plan, which, along with recommendations for green planting, dendrology and landscape design, includes the needs for adaptive, inclusive and universal design and technical solutions for existing infrastructure. Accordingly, all infrastructure projects are being implemented in accordance with the development plan.
