Laurel Alley
If we consider the historical alleys of the boulevard with its characteristic tree-plants, along with magnolias, palm treеs and pines, we will definitely meet laurels. The formed laurel alley separates the central walking paths and adds even more greenery and linearity to it. On the historical alley, 70 decorative laurel bushes are associated with the development of the boulevard during the Soviet period. Laurel - (Laurus) is a representative of the laurel family, an evergreen dioecious tree growing in the Mediterranean Sea. There are two known types of laurel - Noble laurel (Laurus Nobilis) and Canary laurel - (Laurus canariensis). The plant is less demanding and easily adapts to all types of soil. It is propagated by seeds, cuttings and root suckers. The Noble laurel tree adapts well to pruning and shaping. Bay leaves and twigs are widely used in cooking, medicine and perfumery, both dried and raw. In historical sources, the laurel tree is mentioned as a symbol of glory, victory and wealth.
