Iason Gordeziani

The greatest contribution to the development of Batumi Boulevard was made by gardener-decorator Iason Gordeziani, who, using the knowledge obtained at the National Agricultural Institute of Versailles, refreshed the vegetation, expanded the old and created new nurseries. The Georgian gardener with European experience has implemented many projects. In 1889, as part of the boulevard development project, about twenty Magnolia trees were planted under his leadership. In 2018, a statue to Iason Gordeziani was installed on the boulevard, the author of which is Irakli Tsuladze.
