Pine Forest

Pine (Pinus) is one of the most widespread tree-plants on Batumi Boulevard, numbering 2,500. The pine alley extends along the coastal buffer strip for a length of 7 kilometers. The alley plays a special healing role in the green space of the boulevard and, together with the sea and mountain air, is distinguished by its healing properties. Pine trees planted by Michael D'Alfons still grow on the territory of the boulevard. Pine (Pinus) is an evergreen, coniferous, representative of the pine family (pinaceae), a tree-shrub plant. It grows from 1.5 to 50 m in height and lives 300-350 years. In addition to the fact that pine is a plant with high ecological properties, it purifies oxygen and releases it in large quantities. It has many applications in medicine. Pine needles are used as an expectorant, as well as a vitamin raw material, for the treatment of infectious diseases and wounds. Pine essential oil is used for respiratory tract damage, bronchitis and various lung diseases.
