About Batumi Boulevard

LEPL "Batumi Boulevard" is a legal entity of public law, created on the basis of the property of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, which is part of the system of the Ministry of Finance and Economy of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara."Batumi Boulevard" manages and maintains the property in its use, it is authorized to use this property in the forms provided for by the Civil Code of Georgia, and in order to determine the appropriate conditions for this, it implements the necessary and appropriate measures to improve the infrastructure, it creates a favorable environment for recreation and tourism for visitors and carries out green plantings maintenance, restoration and renovation works in the area of ​​the boulevard. Batumi boulevard is the main and most visited attraction of the city. The recreation area, which is also a cultural heritage site, has been uniting city guests and native residents for more than a century. It includes a seven-kilometer seaside promenade, 4 historical alleys, a bicycle path, more than 40,000 tree-plants planted at different times thrive in the area. With its historical significance and continuous development cycle, Batumi Boulevard has become a visiting card of our city, where everyone finds their place.

Historical Colonnades

The project of the antique-style colonnade was brought from Italy in 1930 by Batumi doctor Ivane Mchedlidze. The construction was supervised by the city s chief architect, Pavle Nadareishvili , and the construction work was carried out by the Honored Architect of Georgia Bogdan Kirakosyan. The colonnade was built in 1934, as evidenced by the mosaic inscription made there. The antique colonnade, which served as the main gate of the boulevard, is today a monument of cultural heritage and is recognized as one of the most important and characteristic sights of Batumi.

Ali and Nino

The kinetic sculpture “Ali and Nino” is one of the most popular attractions in Batumi. The 7-meter-high structure makes a circular motion with an interval of 8-10 minutes, at the end of which the silhouettes of a man and a woman merge with each other with geometric precision. The creation of Georgian artist Tamar Kvesitadze is a symbol of constant movement, love and the fusion of cultures.
